Enhanced PC Features
The Last of Us Part II Remastered is set to arrive on PC, bringing with it all the enhancements and new features from the PlayStation 5 version released in 2024. This includes the roguelike survival mode ‘No Return’, ‘Guitar Free Play’, and extensive developer commentary. In collaboration with Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy, this version offers various PC-centric quality-of-life improvements to enhance the gaming experience in the stunning landscapes of Jackson and Seattle.
Optimizations for PC
The game is optimized with Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution, AMD FSR 3.1 and 4 support, VSync, and framerate cap options. It also supports DirectStorage, allowing players to enjoy seamless gameplay. Additionally, it offers adjustable settings such as Texture Quality, LOD Distance, Volumetric Quality, Shadow Quality, and more. The game supports ultrawide monitors, offering resolutions up to 48:9 for triple-monitor setups, along with 4K resolution gameplay.
Control and Audio Features
Keyboard and mouse controls include full remapping and adaptive modes, allowing a combination of keyboard and controller inputs. Full gamepad support is available, with DualSense controllers offering haptic feedback. Players can immerse themselves with 3D audio, enhancing both action scenes and quiet exploration moments.
New ‘No Return’ Content
Upon launch, PC players will gain access to new content for the ‘No Return’ mode. Two characters, Bill and Marlene from The Last of Us Part I, bring unique playstyles. Bill, with a ‘Smuggler’ style, benefits from custom shotguns and increased rewards. Marlene’s ‘Risk Taker’ style includes a custom assault rifle and special gambits. Four new maps enhance the mode, adding variety and excitement to the challenges.
PlayStation Network Integration
While optional, logging into the PlayStation Network grants PC players 50 in-game points and a new skin for Ellie, featuring a jacket from an upcoming PS5 game. PS5 players will also receive this skin in the 2.0.0 patch. The update also includes new Trophies and bug fixes for a smoother experience.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered can be pre-purchased on Steam and the Epic Games Store, in anticipation of its April 3 release. We are excited for both new and returning players to experience this enhanced journey.
